To provide a high-impact long lasting visual message, the choice of acrylic awards and embedments is clearly unique. There is almost an unlimited variety of sizes and shapes to choose from. Combined with the design flexibility there are a multitude of methods to incorporate your message either embedded inside of the piece or imprinted on its surface. Check out our different processes we can do to put your own personal touch to your award.
You must select the "look" you want for your custom award. Our sales specialists will ask you about your artwork: how many colors? 1 or 2 sides? Dou you want a white card with printing, or a clear "acetate" insert with your logo floating? How about a full color digital print?

Silk Screened Clear Film Acetates - Clear Insert

Your PMS color for logos or copy can be silk screened directly onto clear acetate film for the magical suspended look inside of the Lucite.....sometimes referred to as clear inserts. Screen printed clear acetate film is embedded into the acrylic to give a magical suspended look to your imprint. PMS color matches are attempted, however due to the embedment process, cannot be guaranteed. The most popular method.

Screened Brass Plates

By Screening inks onto a highly polished brass plate your copy presents an elegant, rich presentation. This can be enhanced by adding a black Lucite background 1/4" or 1/2". Several brass plate sizes available. 1 or 2 color printing on plates. Silver plates also available. Call 401-841-5646 for pricing.

Part Name: Wedge Prism

"Printed Card" Offset Printing - 1 or more colors up to 4 color process

Normal printing and copy methods do not stand up to the heat and polymerization process involved in Lucite production. Our in house printing department prints on special white card stock a variety of flat colors, as well as four-color process print jobs. Cards, bond certificates, and books can all be re-produced. We cannot guarantee client supplied printed cards since we don't produce them.

Laser Engraving

Through the use of hi-tech scribing lasers we can etch into the surface of the Lucite, leaving a frosted image of your logo or copy. This can be the primary copy or a background to other embedments inside the Lucite. Laser engraving is a highly specialized look. A less expensive option is to surface screen in a frost white color on the front or back. Please call us to discuss your options!

Double Casts & Inner Core

Our in house artists have the ability to take multiple cards for various shapes and reproduce them and embed them so they look suspended in place within a cube or multi-side piece. Through the use of our double cast process ( cube within a cube) we can align the cards to a second casting of the same shape and pour over this core piece.

Digital Photo Prints

Digital Photo Prints ( or "E" Prints) are electronic photo prints that allow you to use most artwork easily since we just use our special photo process to copy the artwork you provide to us. Please remember however that the final result will be exactly what you provide - ( staple marks or folds will show if your copy has them). Ciba's are embeddable photographs, which can be used as the primary focal point inside the Lucite, or as a background for other copy. These are photographs or full color inserts. No PMS Matching or color matching available as is the case with a photo.

A Better Idea's production Art Department’s job starts with the preflighting of every piece of artwork that is sent for a project. The goal is to provide our customers with as much information before starting a project. Once artwork has been submitted to our art department, highly trained artists process the art to the specific characteristics for our unique and custom processes. Computer Engraving

If personalization is what you need, A Better Idea! can engrave the award recipients name directly onto the acrylic to further customize the parts. The engraving can either be left as a frosted etching or highlighted by color filling.

2 & 3 Dimensional Molding

Whether a flat custom map or logo shape or a fully dimensional product replica, we can make what you need.

Cibachrome or Photos

Cibachromes are embeddable photographs printed on special photographic paper, which can be used as the primary focal point inside the acrylic, or as a background for other processes.

Metal Casting

Choose from one of our hundreds of stock metal cast miniatures to help enhance your imprinted message or we can custom mold a metal casting or medallion for you. All castings are made for embedment in our acrylic products exclusively.

Screened Brass Plates

For a more elegant look, we can screen print your imprint onto one or two sides of a silver or gold brass plate to be embedded into a acrylic memento.

Offset Printing

We can offset print your message or reproduce a miniaturized version of your existing art for embedment in clear acrylic. Our in-house printing department can print four-color process as well as a large variety of spot colors. PMS color matches are attempted, however due to the embedment process, cannot be guaranteed.

Laser Engraving

Through the use of high-tech scribing lasers we can etch into the surface of the acrylic, leaving a frosted image of your logo or copy. This can be the primary copy or a background to other embedments inside the acrylic or can be used to burn your image into wood bases.

Laser Cutting

Using A Better Idea's high-tech cutting laser, your logo may be cut from colored plex and embedded into acrylic adding a unique dimensional effect to your colored logo.

Machining

Special shapes and cuts can be made by machining the acrylic.

Art

Using your supplied electronic or camera ready art, or creating it in our in-house art department we will make your imprint look its best for our imprinting processes.

Sculpting

Our in house sculptors give the ability to add custom 2 or 3 dimensional shape to our acrylic or urethane resin molded products.
